Derek S. Green, Esq. is an Assistant City Solicitor in the Regulatory Affairs Unit of the City of Philadelphia Law Department. In this capacity, he represents the Office of Housing and Community Development as in-house counsel and negotiates, prepares, and reviews over $100 million in housing and economic development contracts funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, PA Department of Community Economic Development, and the City of Philadelphia.

In addition, his prior legal experience includes positions as an Assistant District Attorney for the City of Philadelphia and an Assistant Deputy Attorney General for the State of Delaware. He is admitted to practice in the States of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Mr. Green is a graduate of the University of Virginia and Temple University School of Law. Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Green was a consumer and small business lender for Meridian Bank.

He also serves in a leadership capacity in a number of civic and professional organizations including board member of the Urban League of Philadelphia, general counsel to the Philadelphia Alumni Housing Corporation, YLD Zone 1 Co-chair for the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and board treasurer for Black Parenting Today, Inc. Mr. Green and his wife, Sheila, reside in the Mount Airy section of the City of Philadelphia.
